Recent reports indicate that the San Jose Sharks are considering significant changes to their roster, particularly in their defensive lineup. Key defenseman Mario Ferraro, previously rumored to be on the trading block, may not be the only one the team is looking to move.

San Jose Sharks Contemplating Trading Veteran Defenseman

The 36-year-old defenseman, once a key player, has seen a decline in his performance. In a challenging environment where the Sharks are struggling in the league standings, maintaining top performance levels can be difficult. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reports that the Sharks are actively seeking to transfer his contract to another team.
Friedman (32TP): "I have no doubt they want to move Vlasic, they're not scratching a guy as much as they are cause they're happy with him.. This year and 2 more at $7M, and there's some signing bonuses there too, is he going to be able to prove to a team he's 75% of what he was?"
Additionally, Friedman revealed that the Sharks had discussions about Ferraro with another team:
Friedman on #SJSharks D-Mario Ferraro (32TP): "The rumour was Carolina took a big run at him and really tried to get him.. He's a really talented young player... signed for 2 more years at $3.25M, there's going to be a lot of teams checking the price tag on this one"

San Jose Sharks Open to Trading Most Players

The current state of the Sharks' roster suggests that almost any player could be traded for the right offer. With the team's performance not meeting expectations and several players nearing the end of their contracts, they could be an interesting taret to teams aiming for the playoffs. While the veteran defenseman might not fit the typical profile for these trades, his future with the team seems uncertain. Ferraro, on the other hand, is not on an expiring contract but is seen as having potential value elsewhere.
Despite recent struggles, the Sharks have shown signs of resurgence, pulling off remarkable victories in recent games. This improvement has lifted them from the bottom of the league standings.
