Bruce Boudreau Takes A Major Shot At The Toronto Maple Leafs And Their Fans

In a recent media appearance, Bruce Boudreau spoke about the Toronto Maple Leafs. He identified what he thinks is wrong with the team and the holes that need to be fixed.

First Boudreau comments on the Maple Leafs defense. He believes outside of Morgan Rielly the group is aging and nothing extraordinary.

Then Boudreau shifts his attention to the forward group in Toronto. Specifically, he comments on the play of several free-agent additions up front that are not living up to expectations.

After speaking about the team themselves Boudreau comments on the fans. He thinks that fans having unrealistic expectations is part of the problem.

Boudreau's final comments of the interview were then shifted to the Maple Leafs fans. He says that the Maple Leafs fans have come into the season with unrealistic expectations for the roster based on the talent that is on the team.

These are some harsh words from the former NHL bench boss. From a performance standpoint at the moment Boudreau seems to have hit the nail on the head. Boudreau's full comments can be seen in the clip below.

Regardless of where the team is now several of these players were billed by management as impact players. If they do not live up to those expectations that is on management for overvaluing players not on fans for holding players to the standard management claimed they were at.
