Here's their official statement:
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Toronto native, Ken Girard. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to Ken's family during this difficult time.

Girard, a talented right winger, played for the Toronto Marlboros from 1954 to 1957. He was instrumental in securing two Memorial Cup victories for the team in 1955 and 1956.
At the young age of 19, Ken briefly joined the Toronto Maple Leafs, playing in seven games before transitioning to the American League. His hockey journey eventually took him to the San Francisco Seals, where he played until retiring at just 23 years old.
We extend our deepest sympathies to his loved ones.
