On Leafs Morning Take, Gretzky spoke about his thoughts on the Leafs' new additions to the roster. He specifically mentioned the addition of Ryan Reaves.
I like what they've added to their team. Reaves is one of our favorites on TNT. He's a wonderful team guy

Reaves was one player who got some criticism when he signed, many believing that they already had that sort of player in Wayne Simmonds. However, Gretzky might think otherwise, showing his support for Reavo.
Support For the New GM
Gretzky also showed his support for the new GM, Brad Treliving, in his interview. Gretzky and Treliving spent some time together in Arizona when Wayne was working in the front-office.
Hopefully this is their year Brad Treliving is a wonderful man. I think he's the right guy to take on that responsibility and the pressure of running the Toronto Maple Leafs
Gretzky also noted his family fandom for the Leafs, saying that his dad used to go to 30-40 games a year. He spoke about his late father's fandom in the interview.
My dad went to 35 of 40 Leafs games a year. I know that in his heart he wanted so badly, desperately to see them win the Cup so hopefully this is their year.
With the greatest to ever do it on their side, maybe the Leafs will be able to get another step closer to winning the Cup this year.
