The Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to strenghten their lineup ahead of the trade deadline and there's very little doubt that a defenseman will join the team.
Right now, all eyes are turned to the Philadelphia Flyers and their defenseman Sean Walker.
His value on the market is pretty high. With his great skills and his reasonable salary of $2.65 million, many teams could be interested in acquiring him for the playoffs.
There's a lot of reports stating that the Leafs are really interested in Walker and have even asked for him. However, the price won't be cheap. They will probably need to give at least a first round pick to get him.
"The Leafs have reached out to the Flyers on D Sean Walker.
Note: The Flyers are reportedly asking for a 1st round pick.
Could be a nice land for the Leafs that being said Tampa and Edmonton are reportedly also interested."
The Flyers, however, surprised everyone this season and Walker, 29, played a big role in that success.
With the trade deadline around the corner, the future of Walker is very uncertain. The Flyers could very well decide to keep him for a playoff push.
Top defensemen aren't often available on the trade market. A first round pick seems like a high price for him, but it could turn out to be a bargain if he performs well.
