The Toronto Maple Leafs red-hot run continued on Saturday night after erasing a 2-0 deficit against the Colorado Avalanche to pull out the shocking win, and no one was more impressed than Head Coach Jared Bednar.

Jared Bednar praises the Toronto Maple Leafs

Following the loss, this is what Colorado Avalanche Head Coach Jared Bednar had to say about their opponents;
"Number one, they're first in offence in the league in the last 10 games. And then you look at their defending numbers... I always feel like they don't get enough credit for the way they defend and how hard they defend and their chance suppression," Bednar said.

"It's been good now for a couple of years, and yet they still get beat up over it at times, I think, because they're a really good offensive team. And, you know, there's a lot of weapons on the team, but they're committed to what they're doing on the defensive side of it. They put the whole package together here, especially in the last 10 games. And they're winning every night."
Given the amount of goals they've scored in recent times, it's hard to argue with Bednar's first point about Toronto's offense, but then he would go on to praise their defense too.
That may come as a shock to many as the blue line is where Toronto are targeting a major upgrade ahead of the trade deadline, but if they can continue to stifle good teams like the Avalanche, they may finally be on their way to a deep playoff run.
This game was highlighted by a birthday hat-trick from veteran Tyler Bertuzzi, giving the Maple Leafs 38 goals in their seven game winning streak, and it appears as though they're impressing opposing teams in a big way as they look to build confidence ahead of the playoffs.
