Former Leaf says Oliver Ekman-Larsson will be a great fit with the Leafs
Former NHLer and Leafs tough guy Jay Rosehill thinks that Oliver Ekman-Larsson has the potential to be the Toronto Maple leafs best off-season move.
The Leafs signed Ekman-Larsson to a 4 year deal worth $13 million at the start of free agency, and while his offensive numbers may not be what they were when he played for the Arizona Coyotes, he still provides incredible value to a blue line that has struggled to stay consistent.
Fresh off a Stanley Cup victory with the Florida Panthers, Jay Rosehill stated on the «Leafs Morning Take» podcast that he thinks Ekman-Larsson will end up being the best move the Leafs made this off-season.
''He is not going to be the man, the stud, but he's got good hockey in him for sure. Tons of experience. He's got a pedigree that is quality.

Ekman-Larsson is far removed from his back to back 20+ goal seasons from 2014-2016, but he still provided solid offence from the blueline last year, tallying 32 points in 80 games, and then adding 6 points in 24 playoff games.
Along with the newly acquired Chris Tanev, OEL will provide a steady, veteran presence on the Leafs blueline, and although OEL has refined his defensive game in the last few years, it would be very surprising to see him defending leads late in important games.
