Keith Petruzzelli seemed to be a hopeful goaltender coming into the league early on. At an impressive 6'6" and a guaranteed spot playing for the Quinnipiac University team, he looked to be a reasonable third-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft for the Detroit Red Wings
However, after three seasons with the team, it is clear that forever does not end here for the AHL goaltender. After a meager .867 SV% in his last season with Toronto, Petruzzelli has taken a deal elsewhere. This 25-year-old goaltender has now signed a one-year deal with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the AHL affiliate to the Philadelphia Flyers.
Though Toronto seems to have trouble holding onto goaltenders, it is unlikely they will miss Keith Petruzzelli too much on the Marlies. Hopefully, though, he can find a better home with the Phantoms.
