No doubt when you can call the legendary Mike Murphy your grand-father, you will likely do well in hockey, and that's exactly what Brooklyn Murphy is doing.

Brooklyn is Mike Murphy's grand-daughter, and she was just named the Athlete of the Week by both 680 NewsRadio and City News in Toronto this past week.
Brooklyn is about to enter Grade 9. She's fallen in love with hockey, and absolutely loves playing it and just being involved in it any way possible. Her school has also just named her the Athlete of the Year. This isn't a surprise to many out there especially when they find out that Mike Murphy is her grandpa. He has likely given her a wealth of advice over the years as she's grown into the sport.
The Murphy's know hockey. Mike Murphy coached the Leafs in the 90's and now his granddaughter Brooklyn is the 680 NewsRadio Athlete of the Week.
Mike Murphy played in the NHL from 1971 to 1983 for the St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings. He scored 238 goals and finished with 556 points in 831 games. After he retired as a player, he got involved in the front office of the NHL, where he became a legendary coach for the Maple Leafs.
