At 41-years of age, even the fittest players are looking to move on from their NHL career, and after seeing his playing time dwindle in Toronto this past season, many expected that to be the case for defenseman Mark Giordano this off-season. However, his agent has now shocked the world, revealing that not only does the former Norris Trophy winner want to play on, but he's eyeing 'multiple' seasons in the NHL to end his career.
Giordano began his NHL career way back in 2005 with the Calgary Flames, and with Calgary, Seattle and Toronto, he's managed 1,148 NHL games thus far, tallying an impressive 158 goals and 577 points over that time, making him one of this generation's most decorated blue liners. It's unclear where he will play for multiple years, as he currently remains an unrestricted free agent, and while his role may simply be a depth, extra defenseman, he's insistent that his NHL career isn't done yet.
