The Toronto Maple Leafs have a solid prospect pool, and now they'll get an up close look at their 2024 fifth-round pick as he joins the WHL.

The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect group is one of the most underrated in the entire NHL, and while there were question marks over some 2024 draft picks, they are confident in the players they selected. Now, they will get a chance to see the development of 18-year old Miroslav Holinka, who has officially announced his arrival to North America, inking a deal with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL.
✍️ The ink is dry! ✍️

Oil Kings have signed Miroslav Holinka to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement, the club announced today. Holinka was selected 14th overall by the club in the 2024 CHL Import Draft. Welcome to the Oil Kings, Miroslav! 👑
Despite being drafted No. 151 overall in the NHL Draft, Holinka was the 14th overall pick in the CHL Import Draft, and will now make his way to the WHL to continue his development. That development began strong a season ago, as he tallied 20 goals and 41 points in 29 games played in Czechia last year in his junior league, with 3 points in 16 games when he joined Trinec Ocelari HC at the top level.
The talented center stands 6-foot-1 and weighs in at 185 pounds, so he clearly has the size to succeed at the next level, and if he can develop his talent, the Maple Leafs may be looking at a major draft day steal.
