Tonight a dirty check from a Florida Panthers defenseman led to all out chaos on the ice that ended up involving several fans throwing things at players.
Chaos Ensues Between Panthers And Lightning
Early in the second period in the game between the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning a goal was scored by the Panthers.
Just before the shot was taken by the Panthers, defenseman Dmitry Kulikov went out of his way to elbow a Lightning player in the face. This led to retaliation and a full on fight between the two teams.
As referees were trying to sort things out and separate players a few fans got involved. Fans with popcorn in the stands decided to start throwing their popcorn over the glass at nearby players who were engaged in a shoving match.

Eventually, the referees did end up getting control of the situation and penalties were handed out. Kulikov who started the chaos with his illegal check was ejected from the game. The goal that was scored by the Panthers was also waived off because his hit occurred before the puck was shot.
