A referee is currently facing serious allegations after allegedly assaulting a 10-year-old Atom player during a minor hockey game at the Intact Insurance Ice Center in Quebec City.

The incident has led to the 42-year-old man's arrest, as reported by TVA Sports. The video footage of the incident has since been removed.
As reported by TVA Nouvelles, the Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) was called to the Sainte-Foy sports complex on Sunday morning following reports of an adult physically assaulting a youth.
According to eyewitnesses present at the game, the referee deliberately elbowed the young player in the abdomen, causing significant concern among the spectators. Other witnesses reported that the blow appeared to be unprovoked and was not intended to end a scrum.
The victim was a 10-year-old Atom player who was participating in the game being refereed by the accused.
It's essential to treat all allegations of physical assault seriously and investigate them thoroughly. Although the referee is presumed innocent until proven guilty, it's crucial to take appropriate legal action if the allegations are proven to be true.
The safety and well-being of children participating in sports should always be a top priority. The hockey community must take a firm stance against all forms of violence or abuse and work together to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
Our thoughts go out to the young victim and their family, and we hope they receive the necessary support and care to recover from this traumatic experience.
