Controversial former NHL draft pick Mitchell Miller, previously released by two NHL teams, has reportedly signed a new contract.
Miller, currently 21, is playing for Liptovsky Mikulas HK in Slovakia. The defenseman was originally drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in 2020, but was released due to past incidents involving bullying a developmentally challenged schoolmate and making racist remarks.
In November 2022, the Boston Bruins signed him to a three-year entry-level contract, only to terminate it later amidst public criticism, though compensating Miller financially.
The KHL, known for signing controversial players, now adds Miller to its ranks, alongside others like Alex Galchenyuk, Reid Boucher, and Brendan Leipsic.
