Breaking: Major NHL Sponsor in Trouble After Filling for Bankruptcy

According to the CBC, Biosteel has filed for bankruptcy protection in the U.S. and Canada.

When filing for creditor protection from bankruptcy, its common that companies will shut down, though that isn't always the case, according to the CBC article. Biosteel has major sponsorships with NHL players like Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, John Tavares and recent No. 1 overall pick Connor Bedard.

It certainly begs the question as to whether or not the NHL will lose a major sponsor this year, since it is clear that Biosteel doesn't have the cash to offer up big sponsorships like it has in the past.
