Update on Patrick Kane's Team Selection from Elliotte Friedman

Insider Elliotte Friedman, during a recent intermission of Hockey Night In Canada, shared pivotal information regarding Patrick Kane's upcoming team decision.
Friedman suggested that Kane's decision, shrouded in privacy, is expected to become clear early next week. He highlighted that while many speculate Florida as a likely choice, Kane has also shown significant interest in the Detroit Red Wings.
During the show's intermission, Friedman noted that Kane's destination remains uncertain, pointing out Florida as a suspected choice, but also mentioning his interest in the Red Wings. He anticipates a decision early next week.
In a segment of Saturday Headlines on Hockey Night in Canada, Friedman stated,
"We might get an early-week hint about Kane's inclinations and his final decision. Although there's a strong speculation about Florida, Detroit has emerged as a significant contender in his considerations."

Friedman, however, urged caution in making definitive statements, acknowledging Kane's preference for privacy and noting that a few teams remain in contention.
Previously, Friedman touched on discussions between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Kane, but cast doubt on the likelihood of this pairing.
Friedman commented,
"The prospect of Kane joining the Maple Leafs seems slim, despite their interest in holding discussions with him. We should see Kane's decision unfold in the next few days."

At 34, Kane, who was initially drafted first overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2007, was traded last season to the New York Rangers. During his tenure with both teams, he scored 21 goals and totaled 57 points.

Potential Surprise Destination for Patrick Kane

The New York Islanders are emerging as a surprise contender for Kane, with General Manager Lou Lamoriello reportedly pursuing him actively. Kane's addition could fill a crucial gap for the Islanders.
