It is with great sadness that we share the devastating news announced this morning by the USHL. Braydin Lewis, a 19-year-old defenseman, has tragically passed away.
An Unyielding Fighter
Lewis, who played for the Metro Jets in the USHL - the premier junior league in the United States - lost his brave battle with cancer, passing away surrounded by his loved ones.
Even while facing his diagnosis, Lewis' unwavering determination to play hockey remained strong until the very end.
The Jets shared on Sunday:
"After his diagnosis last summer, he was determined to return for his third season. Not only did he return, but played while undergoing treatment. Lewey's strength and willingness was an inspiration to the team and he showed up to support his teammates at every opportunity."
Our deepest condolences go out to the friends and family of this extraordinary young man who demonstrated such perseverance. Rest in peace, Braydin Lewis.
