While the hockey world has been mourning Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, many have awaited the sentence of Sean Higgins, and now we may know more.
This past week has been hard for hockey fans, especially for the families of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, and those in Calgary and Columbus that came to know not only No. 13, but his incredible family as well. As we continue to mourn, plenty of people are wondering about Sean Higgins, the man arrested for the tragedy, and now a user on X with a background in law has revealed the potential situation and what punishment he may be facing.
Higgins has reportedly been charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, and with that charge carrying a sentence of 5-10 years, he could be facing up to 20 years in prison. Given that he tore two families apart and took one of the sports most beloved players, many believe this would be light for his reckless behaviour involving alcohol, so there is a chance that even more charges could be tacked on to this.
As of right now, Higgins remains in a jail cell until September 13th as he awaits his hearing before a judge, but from all accounts, he should be expecting plenty more time inside a cell while the world continues to remember Johnny Hockey and his brother Matthew.
