For the second consecutive year, the Boston Bruins have a strong start of the season, despite the departures of veterans Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci.
However, it's still too early to predict the team's trajectory for the season. Nevertheless, there's a possibility that the Bruins organization is keeping an eye on developments in Montreal.
According to journalist Rob Couch, it's quite plausible that Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney may seek reinforcements at the trade deadline, and Couch mentions Sean Monahan's name in his article.
"When it comes to cheap and versatile, Sean Monahan should be right at the top of the Bruins' list of players to add. He is on a one-year, $1.95 million AAV deal and can play all forward positions. Whether the Bruins need help on the wing or down the middle, he can play anywhere in the lineup and play well. He has started the season with two goals and five points in five games."
Kent Hughes Won't Trade Him That Easily
Monahan has had an excellent start to the season, and his modest salary of just $1.95 million makes him an attractive target for the Bruins in a potential trade at the trade deadline.
The potential addition of Monahan, who can play multiple positions, could provide valuable depth to the team.
Kent Hughes could get a nice return for the veteran, but the option of keeping him and resign him this summer is also a possibility.
