Jack Campbell Rumored To Be Part Of Hockey's Next Blockbuster Trade

Earlier today Jack Campbell was placed on waivers for the purpose of reassignment by the Edmonton Oilers.

This move comes after the extremely disappointing play of Campbell to begin the season. Fans had high hopes for the veteran goalie after a difficult first season in Edmonton. Sadly, Campbell was unable to bounce back leading to his placement on waivers.

Reports indicate due to his high cap hit that Campbell is expected to clear waivers. If he does clear waivers a new scenario has been put together to find Campbell his next NHL opportunity.

If Campbell clears waivers one team could have significant interest in the veteran goalie. A couple of reports have indicated that the Philadelphia Flyers could be a good fit. They are looking to move on from current goalie Carter Hart. They have also been reportedly open to taking on salary to get the deal done.

If the two are involved in a swap for one another it would be the biggest trade of the season to this point. Hart is a young goalie with tremendous potential who would be returning closer to home.

Campbell has shown flashes of high-level play and a change of scenery could be the spark needed to reignite his career. The trade could be exactly what is needed for both teams at this moment.
