Possible 3-team trade emerges between Canadiens, Flames, and Hurricanes

Per several credible sources, Kent Hughes' interest in forward, Martin Necas, has spiked and a potential trade involving two other teams has surfaced. Another name that has been flying around the league for trades is Jakob Markstrom, the starting goalie for the Calgary Flames.

This trade style looks very similar to the trade made at the 2022 NHL Draft that saw the Canadiens move Alexander Romanov to the Islanders for the 13th overall pick. They then flipped that 13th pick plus a 3rd for Kirby Dach. This proves that Kent Hughes is not afraid to make deals of this intensity, and not only making the deals but also making the deals on draft day.

The trade also currently fits their mold for what they have surplus. Too many NHL ready defencemen, especially on the left side. Players like Guhle, Matheson, Hutson, Struble, Xhekaj, and even Jordan Harris have made it clear they are ready to be full time NHLers. This trade shortens that list by one and it adds another high level forward to the mix.

To look to the future for the Canadiens they will be in a situation every team wishes for as they will have too many players to choose from for their NHL roster.
