This NHL Insider just revealed that the Boston Bruins may be able to terminate Milan Lucic's contract with a special loophole after his arrest.

Insider Reveals that Bruins Could Terminate Lucic's Contract Using Morality Clause

After Milan Lucic was arrested on suspicion of assault and battery on a family member, the Bruins announced that he would be suspended indefinitely from the team. Now, NHL insider Jimmy Murphy, who covers hockey in Boston, has revealed that the Bruins could terminate Lucic's contract using the morality clause.
From @MurphysLaw74, the #NHLBruins can terminate Milan Lucic's contract:

«The «Morality Clause» of the Standard Player Contract (SPC) states that a team can terminate a deal with a player who breaches the contract with «conduct detrimental to the best interest of the Club. Each player must ‘agree to conduct himself on and off the rink according to the highest standards of honesty, morality, fair play, and sportsmanship and to refrain from conduct detrimental to the best interest of the Club, the League, or professional hockey generally.'»
Lucic was arraigned on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to the charges. He will now go through the full legal proceedings, with a pre-trial hearing set for January.

Many Fans Called For Lucic's Contract To Be Terminated and Management to Take Additional Actions

After the news broke regarding Lucic's arrest, many fans wanted further action taken by Bruins management, including a point where the contract was terminated. After Lucic pleaded not guilty, the morality clause mentioned above would be the clause that might allow Bruins Management to take that step.
He should also be released from his contract..
It has been reported that Lucic was also entered into the NHL's Player Treatment program, and it was expected that the Bruins would waive his contract after 30 days in the program.
They can release him whenever they want but I'm told they are going to wait until he does the minimum 30 days
