Mike Babcock has been in the NHL news cycle the last couple of days now. After accusations of misconduct with his current captain Boone Jenner many have made their opinions on Babcock known including one former NHLer.
Babcock Accused Of Wrongdoing
According to a report put out by Paul Bissonnette of Spittin Chiclets Babcock allegedly forced his players to allow him to look through their phones. This is of course a major violation of privacy.
Since the accusations came out both Babcock and Boone Jenner denied that anything was done wrong. There was just a simple sharing of family pictures to get to know one another better. While this has been enough for most people to back off of Babcock one former NHL player is not so convinced.
Mike Commodore played for Mike Babcock for a 17 game span in 2011-12. One can only assume that Commodore's experience was not a good one because he had some harsh criticism for Babcock recently.
This statement from Commodore is a very strong negative one. He alleges that Babcock uses his power and intimidation to control players. These comments should definitely be taken with a grain of salt as Commodore has had trouble in the past with other coaches as well.
As of now the story seems to be wrapping up but it will be interesting to see if another wrinkle is added soon.
