By now, you've likely heard about the controversy surrounding Jamie Benn and his actions from last night's game against Vegas. No less than two minutes into the match, Benn cross-checked Mark Stone in the face, earning himself an ejection. He seems to think the play was incidental and said so to the media today.

That's the Best You've Got?

When asked about the incident from last night's game today, Jamie Benn didn't seem to own up to his actions. Instead, he excused them, saying he wished he hadn't fallen on Stone and used his stick to brace himself. That's not what it looked like to us, but we'll let you decide.
What do you think, does that look incidental?

Punishment Likely For Benn

Despite Benn pleading not guilty, he will have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety to determine his punishment. It's likely that receives a suspension, but nothing is guaranteed yet.
We will have an update ready as soon as the verdict is released, so stay tuned to find out Benn's punishment!
