The Maple Leafs are currently wrestling with a complex predicament. The club's recent signings - Max Domi, Tyler Bertuzzi, Ryan Reaves, and John Klingberg - have pushed them $8 million above the salary cap.

Even with Jake Muzzin's shift to LTIR, they'll still overshoot the cap limit.

Maple Leafs Trading Block: Three Players on the Line

A new report hints at an impending exit for Matt Murray from Toronto. His hefty contract and a continuous series of consistently subpar performances have motivated Treliving to explore his options.
David Pagnotta from The Fourth Period suggests that the Maple Leafs might be considering moving two other players.
"T.J. Brodie's name is out there as well, he's got a 5 million dollar cap hit in the final year of his deal, he has some no-trade protection, he's out there as well. Nick Robertson is also a name that's floating around that could potentially be moved and maybe as a sweetener for somebody taking on Murray." - David Pagnotta

The Hurdles in Treliving's Path
