Former Leaf Reveals Mutual Interest Between Perry and Leafs
The public is still in the dark with what occurred causing Corey Perry to be terminated from the Chicago Blackhawks. However, the NHL has determined that Perry will be able to return to the League this season, should he wish to sign with someone, leaving Perry a free agent.
Now, former Leaf Carlo Colaiacovo has revealed that there is a mutual interest between Perry and the Toronto Maple Leafs as a potential place for him to land.

My understanding is that there is mutual interest between #LeafsForever & Corey Perry & we discussed that with @mike_p_johnson
It's hard to imagine what Perry would be asking for in terms of a contract, given the drama that surrounds him, so it is hard to determine if the Leafs could even make something work. However, it does appear that they are at a minimum, interested.
Would Perry Want the Spotlight of Toronto After Scandal?
Perry and the Blackhawks have been extremely tight-lipped about what happened that led to his termination. If Perry were to play in Toronto, that would be nearly impossible to avoid, as Toronto is the biggest hockey market in the world. It's uncertain Perry would even want the type of spotlight that would come from signing with the Leafs, and the pestering of questions he would face.

We will see who Perry chooses to sign with, as the deadline for his decision will approach quickly.
