The Calgary Flames have played some solid hockey this season, but with the team looking to rebuild or retool, it's time for them to sell off some of their top upcoming UFA's, and there's plenty of reported interest.
Despite dealing with a few small injuries this season, Tanev remains a premier defenseman on the trade market, and with the reported interest from many teams, the price could be a very interesting one for the Flames, and ultimately, it may force their hand to make a move.
It's not clear yet who else is in the race, but both Toronto and Vancouver have a serious need on the blue line, and if either can land the 33-year old who is top-10 in blocks in the NHL this season, it will be a major boost to their playoff hopes.
