According to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks have interest in Chris Tanev, one of the NHL's toughest defenseman.

Despite dealing with a few small injuries this season, Tanev remains a premier defenseman on the trade market, and with the reported interest from many teams, the price could be a very interesting one for the Flames, and ultimately, it may force their hand to make a move.
Calgary Flames look to enter a re-tooling period
After trading Nikita Zadorov to Vancouver already, the Flames UFA list also includes Noah Hanifin and Elias Lindholm, but given the intangibles, the toughness and the leadership of Tanev, he may be their most sought after piece.
It's not clear yet who else is in the race, but both Toronto and Vancouver have a serious need on the blue line, and if either can land the 33-year old who is top-10 in blocks in the NHL this season, it will be a major boost to their playoff hopes.
