Major news was revealed this morning about Leafs forward Matthew Knies and his potential return to Toronto's lineup after being out with an illness.
Knies Appears to Return to Top Six During Leafs Morning Skate
Matthew Knies has been one of the Leafs' best prospects in recent years, earning his way onto the top line with Matthews and Nylander in just a few games. However, recently, he was brought down by the bug that made its way through the Leafs dressing room.
Now, Knies appears he will be making his return tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins, as reported by David Alter.
Noah Gregor is wearing white and Matthew Knies wearing blue. We could see Gregor move back to the bottom six here as the skate is now underway.
Knies' Return Strong Sign for the Leafs
The Leafs have been on an incredible run over the past few weeks, given they are missing several of their key players due to injury and sickness. With Knies' return, and Timothy Liljegren nearing his return as well, the Leafs will look to build on that success with a fuller lineup than before.
