Sean Avery recently took another shot at Ryan Reaves for his lack of response to Brad Marchand's trip that injured Timothy Liljegren.

Sean Avery Doesn't Think Ryan Reaves is a Protector and Fires Another Shot at Him

Sean Avery is well known for stirring the pot in the NHL, both during his playing days and after. Now, he has taken to Ryan Reaves to fire shots at in his podcast.
Its no question that Reaves was brought in to toughen up the Maple Leafs roster and add some grit to the lineup. While he did show that in his first two games, there have been a few incidents where a response from Reaves has been missing. Avery pointedly notes this in his video, saying Reaves is not a protector.
«He's -8, we all know how bad he is, he can't shoot, and pass in the modern day NHL, that obvious.»

«Where was Ryan Reaves after the Brad Marchand can opener?»

«He said he didn't get matched up with Brad Marchand. You're one of the worst players in the league. Of course your not going to get matched up against Marchand. You still need to find a way to make Marchand scared of you.»

Not the First Time Avery Has Taken a Shot at Reaves this Season

This isn't the first time Avery has taken a shot at Reaves this year, and seems to be doubling down on his opinion of Reaves playing. Previously, Avery called out Reaves for his comments on Corey Perry.

Reaves is clearly struggling on the ice this season and has been playing sheltered minutes. He does provide some toughness value, but he will need to show that moving forward if he wants to stay in the lineup.
